Carlos first joined the MECO Group as a claims handler in 1993 having qualified as an English solicitor. From 2005 to 2007 Carlos worked for other companies involved in shipping, including a major Spanish Energy firm, where he gained valuable expertise as an Insurance buyer. Carlos started consulting with the MECO group in 2007, originally to assist in the development of the Spanish market. Carlos is now responsible for overseeing business development and service requirements across all of the Group’s brands in Spain, Portugal, Latin America and North America.

Additionally, Carlos has responsibility for in-house publications such as Newsletters, e-bulletins and news items as well as for regularly updating the company’s website. Carlos also deploys his extensive claims and legal experience to assist with claims handling strategy and in-house training and support to the underwriting team in assessing contractual risks.

Carlos is a keen triathlete and competes regularly in the half and full Ironman distances.
