Daniel has a broad background in international shipping, trade and commercial litigation, with experience advising on disputes arising from charterparties, bills of lading and contracts of affreightment.

Before joining Markel, Daniel practised in shipping and commercial disputes, acting for and advising owners, operators, managers, charterers, P&I clubs and London market insurers.

His experience includes matters before London arbitral tribunals and the Commercial Court, as well as advisory work on FD&D, P&I and marine insurance issues.

In his current role, Daniel draws on that private practice experience to support Assureds in the handling of complex marine claims, with a focus on practical, commercially informed dispute resolution.

Daniel graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in Law and is a qualified Solicitor of England and Wales.
